History

Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union was chartered in August of 1940 in Corpus Christi, Texas. We have transitioned from numerous core groups and now proudly have a community charter.

Mission

Our mission is to provide the best financial services and products, maintain a strong financial base, and dedicate ourselves to deliver courteous, efficient, and professional service to our members.

Membership Requirements

Membership to Gulf Coast FCU is open to persons who live, work, worship or attend school in Nueces, San Patricio or Jim Wells Counties. Membership is also extended to the immediate family of our members regardless of where they live or work.

To open an account, simply bring in $7.50 to any one of our convenient locations. $5.00 must stay in the share account (savings) at all times to keep the account open and the $2.50 is a one time membership fee.

To open a Checking Account you need $25.00 to open the account, but after that there is no account balance minimum. This is all part of our Free Checking Accounts!

Gulf Coast Federal Credit Union offers the utmost in security to our members. Accounts are insured up to $250,000 through the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. government agency.
